Stockholm Boulevard Acquired After Bankruptcy; New Owner Plans to Revive Stores

Swedish fashion chain Stockholm Boulevard has been acquired following its bankruptcy. Wisam i Skanör AB, owned and led by Per Wilander, has taken over the stores and the brand. Wisam is the parent company of the fashion chain Marty, which operates five stores in Skåne, one in Uppsala, and two in the Stockholm area.

The acquisition includes the brand name Stockholm Boulevard (Sthlm Blvd), four of its retail locations, and the store fixtures. The location at Bromma Blocks, a shopping center, closed as part of the bankruptcy proceedings.

Wilander, who is confident in the future of brick-and-mortar retail despite current challenges, stated to Habit that the situation is “messy and chaotic” at the moment. However, he intends to continue operations at two of the existing stores. One is located in Moodgallerian in central Stockholm, and the other is in Sollentuna Centrum.

Negotiations with landlords are ongoing, with plans to reopen the stores in mid-April, according to Wilander.
